The Very Boring Rally II

The call went out to all the Nobodies. Let's meet at the Very Boring Bike Rally in Duluth on August 22, 2008. Over the weekend five of the 13 club members made an appearance at the rally. It was a terrific weekend with about 1000 bikers camping at Spirit Mountain a ski area that over looks the Saint Louis River and the Duluth Harbor. Food, music, seminars and a national trial competition keep the attendees busy. Every where I went I also had the opportunity to look at hundreds and hundreds of bikes!

Gutts, and Dirty Deeds spent time at the rally while

Jawa the Putz spent the entire weekend with Smelty and

Kickstand camping

Smelty came on a loaned KZ550 as his Virago is

under the weather

Dirty Deeds rode her Yamaha 250

Kickstand the president of the Nobodies sported a

new look with a chopper moustache.

Kickstand is packing for the long seven mile

Trek to the rally

Jawa the Putz is sporting his new

Road Crafter suit for the trip

Here is a better look at that awesome chopper look

Jawa enjoyed the BBQ on Saturday
There was a tent city at Spirit Mountain. Our estimate was around 1,000 camper

Jawa and Kickstand sitting out on their front porch. We initially were "living" in the motorcycle suburbs, but cycle sprawl engulfed us by the end of day one.

The line for Famous Dave's BBQ on Saturday night

We were flying our Nobody Flag with pride. "Who are you?" "Were Nobodies from Duluth and we're stupid!"

Jawa and Smelty kick'en back

Jawa is only good a sitting for a awhile then he needs to putz around. He was caught at the rally working on a few motorcycles without the owners permission.

Smelty looked way to happy away from Gutts

One of our favorite past time at the rally was to watch the motorcycle trials. This a picture of one of the small teams participating in the trials http://www.natctrials.org/

This was one of the larger teams

It is amazing what these folks can do on a cycle

These cycles are from 125cc to over 300cc. In Europe, where the sport is really big the 125cc is the major class. The 125cc bike is one used by the pros. Evidently in the North America there is very little money to be had for pros, while in Europe trials is big and sustains the pros. As you notice, the cycle has no seat.

Jawa was sent to his room for taking apart a strangers motorcycle. Shortly after this picture was taken the Nobodies were kicked out of the rally. Thank a lot Jawa for recking our fun.
